Conciertazo el del viernes. Acostumbrada a los pequeños conciertos de grupos sin grandes presupuestos, el espectáculo de Mónica Naranjo en el Freedom Festival fue un lujazo.
El director del espectáculo salió para contarnos antes del concierto que a las 7 de la tarde estaban a punto de decidir suspender el concierto debido a una pésima organización y problemas técnicos. Ciertamente, el concierto estaba programado para las 22:00 y empezó con casi hora y media de retraso. Las puertas debieron abrirse a las 20:00, pero hasta las diez de la noche no empezó a moverse una cola de más de 500 metros que recorría la playa, que no sólo era larga, sino también muy ancha (no sé cuanta gente había allí, pero parecían miles).
Yo tuve muchísima suerte. Gracias a que una amiga llevaba invitación, pudimos pasar sin esperar. Pero hubo mucha gente que se perdió el comienzo del concierto porque empezó antes de que entrara todo el mundo.
A pesar de ello, el espectáculo fue impresionante. Hace años había visto ya un concierto suyo en Vitoria, en el que también estaba todo muy cuidado (coreografías, atrezzo, etc.), pero sin duda el montaje para el concierto de esta gira es definitivamente lo mejor que he visto nunca. La estética de los bailarines y músicos era preciosa: todos de negro, faldas largas para ellos, New Rocks en los pies de todos… Y el vestuario de Mónica más de lo mismo: corsés, faldas de tul y botas altas de vinilo, una inmensa capa roja de corte japonés que volaba con ella en el comienzo del concierto… Incluso lució unas New Rock de la colección Malicia en sus pies.
Acompañando este cambio de estética, una guitarra bastante presente daba un toque más cañero a los temas más antiguos que originalmente sonaban más disco. Las coreografías también muy cuidadas y perfectamente interpretadas incluso por equilibristas…
Los dos videos que dejo, subidos a youtube por lapopelera, son un buen resumen de lo que vimos esa noche. Esperemos que el equipo de Mónica no se mosqueara tanto como para no venir más por aquí, porque realmente pagaría el doble si hace falta por ver un concierto así de nuevo.

Porque sí, porque Mónica Naranjo es de los pocos artistas que, a pesar de gustar al gran público (MTV, Los 40 subnormales, etc), a mi también me encanta. Su último disco me lo sé casi de memoria ya :P, y hace un par de días, viendo el fotolog de emperatrizoscura (cotilleando ropajes de la Tiberio Dark Side) encontré el link a este vídeo que ni me había molestado en buscar.
Espectacular. No tengo más palabras para definirlo. Tanto Mónica Naranjo como la gente que trabaja para ella se merecen un premio o algo. La letra, la música, la imagen son casi perfectas.
Además, el día 8 de agosto tendremos a Mónica Naranjo en concierto en el Freedom Festival, que ese día se va a hacer en una playa cerca de Torremolinos. A ver si encuentro a alguien con quien ir… Lo cierto es que he visto conciertos de muchos estilos, pero el primero que vi de esta mujer me dejó impresionada. Su voz en directo es mejor todavía que en los discos. Y ahora que este disco nuevo que ha sacado me gusta más todavía… ¡no me lo puedo perder! ¡Aunque tenga que ir sola!

Their new CD release date is the 18th of july, you can buy it from the Out of Line Store… It’s called “Morningstar In A Black Car”. They have 5 new tracks and 4 remixes (one made by UnterArt, I can’t wait to have it!!!!!)
I had the opportunity to see them in the Wave Gotik Treffen, and although the sound of the venue was really poor, we had a great time. I would like to see them soon again, but in a better place…

I’ve been ill during the last two weeks, I’ve had a tendinitis in my left shoulder… I hate those kind of illness, as I need to be active, I need doing things all the time, and the tendinitis has kept me laying in my sofa all the day.
But I’m back, the pain is almost completely dead!! (What a gothic-style phrase! xD I’m progressing…).
I was looking forward to be here again, in front of my computer. And yesterday, in one of my moments to rest, I found this great song: “Tanz die Illusion” of Eisleben (check their myspace if you wanna know more about them!). I don’t understand a word of German, but for any reason I love listening to it… and this song is really catchy!!

Today, I bring a Cinema Strange video. They are from U.S.A. (California), and I’ve allways loved their skill to make their songs sound so dramatic. Sometimes they’re like a soundtrack for any David Lynch film…
