This weekend you should “Shut up and Swallow”

07 7th, 2008 / Tags: , , ,

I’m ready for it! A Combichrist concert in Madrid this 12th of july.

“Shut up and Swallow” - Combichrist (I love the lyrics!!! :P)

“You know the truth.”
“Where are you?”
“You could call it the end of the world..”

You fucking parasite
Feeding off my voice like a leech
Sucking me dry
Use your head
Hope you’re gagging in your throat
Hope you gag and choke
Your pale little face turning blue

If you want it in your ass as I spit in your face
Face down on the floor holding you by your neck
Do you feel like a wreck?
Well that’s life, kiddo
Now shut up and swallow
Shut up and swallow

You’ll get nothing for free
Don’t try to suck it off me
You always take you what you want
Now I just take what is mine
I’ll give you abstinence
You tell of life..
It’s up to you to fill it with substance

I’ll play your game
A lesson of life: It’s not what you want, but what you get
You’ll feel it from within as I work my way out
Such a pretty girl, but such a dirty mouth

Now you want it in your ass as I spit in your face
Face down on the floor, holding you by your neck
Do you feel like a wreck?
Well that is life, kiddo
Now shut up and swallow
Shut up and swallow

“Where are you?”
“You could call it the end of the world.”

The new video of Ashbury Heights. I can’t stop listening to this new song!!

Their new CD release date is the 18th of july, you can buy it from the Out of Line Store… It’s called “Morningstar In A Black Car”. They have 5 new tracks and 4 remixes (one made by UnterArt, I can’t wait to have it!!!!!)

I had the opportunity to see them in the Wave Gotik Treffen, and although the sound of the venue was really poor, we had a great time. I would like to see them soon again, but in a better place…

Enjoy the video:

Recovering… Tanz die Illusion!

06 24th, 2008 / Tags: , , , ,

I’ve been ill during the last two weeks, I’ve had a tendinitis in my left shoulder… I hate those kind of illness, as I need to be active, I need doing things all the time, and the tendinitis has kept me laying in my sofa all the day.

But I’m back, the pain is almost completely dead!! (What a gothic-style phrase! xD I’m progressing…).

I was looking forward to be here again, in front of my computer. And yesterday, in one of my moments to rest, I found this great song: “Tanz die Illusion” of Eisleben (check their myspace if you wanna know more about them!). I don’t understand a word of German, but for any reason I love listening to it… and this song is really catchy!!

You can skip the little interview to enjoy it directly!

Spring concerts

04 18th, 2008 / Tags: , , ,

Waiting for the summer to come I already have planned my concerts agenda.

First of all, the Wave Gotik Treffen (I know, I always write about it!). Next month, more than 160 bands… I hope I can manage to see Ashbury Heights, London After Midnight, Covenant, Paradise Lost, Xotox, Christian Death, … Too many bands in just 4 days!!!

The next week, the And One show on the 17th of may in Madrid. After seeing them in the Mera Luna last year I can’t wait to listen them live again! But… the same day, the 17th of may there’s another great concert here in Malaga: Hora Zulú. And that makes me doubt. Their last CD is great… and the concert is right here…

The 7th of June in Madrid too, Fiendflug + Tyske Luder + Proyecto Mirage. :D FIENDFLUG!!!!!

And the 12nd of July…. Combichrist!!! In Madrid again.

What a great season!!!

We really were there! xD

We were there!I was browsing the galleries of the DDT and I’ve just found us there! Check the www.poisonbytes.de gallery of the 25 Dark Dance Treffen, they have lots of photos not only of the bands, but also photos of the people. Nice work!

Dark Dance Treffen… what a weekend!!

I almost have no words to describe how it was. I’ll just say that UnterArt was again the winner… They were great! I left the Hocico concert 4 songs after the begining, but UnterArt made me stay dancing and signing during the whole show…

I think I’m having a “favorite band” again…

Here I post some photos of the festival. Enjoy!

Ashbury Heights - Three Cheers for the Newlydeads

02 21st, 2008 / Tags: , , , ,

Ashbury Heights - Three Cheers for the NewlydeadsThe day I listened to a song of Ashbury Heights for the first time I was in Granada, in a gothic pub called UNTOTEN. We had to ask about the song we were listening… It was so melodic and catchy!! They told us the name of the group, and the next day we were looking for info about them in the web.

I knew that Out of line was releasing their CD, as I check their web regularly searching for news… I had seen the coverart before in their ‘new releases’ section, but I didn’t pay a lot of attention to it as I was eclipsed with the UnterArt ‘Memento’! (And I’m still crazy about it! I don’t know why I extremely love their music above the rest… Sometimes I feel like a mad teenager fan… :S).

The thing is that after listening to the music of Ashbury Heights I think a new style in futurepop is coming… They make fresh tracks, they have wonderful melodies and high quality voice effects; but at the same time their music is so accessible, that it would perfectly fit in any MTV show…

You should listen to “Bare Your Teeth”, with a starting melody that augurs what you’re gonna find in the CD. I also love “Smaller” (a great chorus that makes you sing though you don’t want to), and “Penance”…

I’m longing for the day that dark electro music becomes successful out of the dark scene!

Digital21 in Malaga

01 25th, 2008 / Tags: , , ,

So long writing in my blog and I haven’t said anything about an important artist… Digital21, a guy who makes everything in his CDs, even the cover art, the videoclips…

Digital21 - Espacio InfinitoI went to a concert of him about two years ago, I haven’t listened to him before, but I remembered reading the name of the group in sonidobscuro.com. As the concert was really cheap (just 1,5€, some official institution pays the rest!) I bought my tickets, and I could enjoy one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. It was so great that I bought his CDs at the end of the show. The music he makes is described as eletronic punk… I have to say that some tracks remind me of Placebo music.

Since that day I’ve tried to see Digital21 again, he’s been playing in Malaga (his hometown, and the place where I live) this summer, but for different reasons I couldn’t go (one of the concerts was the same day I was arriving from the Mera Luna, we were so tired!).

This time I’m not gonna miss it. I’m looking forward to see again all that electronic machinery around him as he shouts loud the powerful lyrics, full of critics and nonconformity. This time the show takes place at the same venue, the “Teatro Diputación” in Malaga. This time is cheap too: just 4 euros. The 9th of february, at 10:00 pm. I’ll be there for sure!!

Bats, bats, bats!!!

I want a T-shirt with those drawings!!!!!!

25. Dark Dance Treffen. My next stop in Germany.

01 24th, 2008 / Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

Since I came back from my holidays in Berlin I’ve been searching for an reason to go back to Germany… And some days ago I found it! The 25 Dark Dance Treffen.

25. Dark Dance TreffenIn Lahr, next to Karlsruhe and Strassburg, the Universal DOG is the venue for a great night of live shows and DJ sessions. For the first time in my life I’m seeing Hocico!!! And Xotox…

I didn’t know this fest existed, but latelly I’m in a “searching mode”. I let my boyfriend search for new music and I’m allways looking for events! The thing is that they don’t have any english info in the DDT website , so I have to guess almost everything with the google tanslator… I’ve gotta say that the fest organization has been really helpful answering us the most important questions.

So, the crazy weekend plan is like that: taking a plane on Saturday, arrive to Stuttgart, rent a car and get to Lahr by the time the fest starts. And the same to come back home on Sunday… I know it’s gonna be a hard weekend, but I know how I’m gonna feel after that: extremely happy.
