Cinema Strange - Catacomb Kittens

10 28th, 2007 / Tags: , , ,

Lately I’ve been more concentrated on listening to electro and 80’s music, but last week I got back to an Antiworld CD, and I thought it’s time to listen again to my forgotten afterpunk, deathrock, batcave…

Today, I bring a Cinema Strange video. They are from U.S.A. (California), and I’ve allways loved their skill to make their songs sound so dramatic. Sometimes they’re like a soundtrack for any David Lynch film…

This video is taken from their DVD “Pressed Flowers / Squashed Blossoms”, enjoy their “Catacomb Kittens”.

I was searching for a Paralitikos video to post it here, but they have the worst quality I’ve ever seen!! So here you have a Paralisis Permanente video, the “teachers” of my beloved Paralitikos…

Rabia Sorda + Stigmatroz

10 15th, 2007 / Tags: , , , ,

Rabia Sorda in KGBTwo weeks ago I went to Barcelona to my third concert of Rabia Sorda this year. I love their music: powerful, full of feelings and ideas. It was a pity that only around 40 people were there… I thought that Erk Aicrag of Hocico (!) would attract more people… Anyway, we had a great time, the concert was superb. I know that the lack of spectators isn’t good for the promoters, and even for us at the end (if nobody goes, they won’t organize concerts like that); but that small audience lets you to closely connect in some way with the band. Their PC got blocked once, but even that was nice ^^.

Stigmatroz in KGBThe surprise that night was Stigmatroz. I had just listened to a song in their myspace before, they sound quite similar to Hocico (in my opinion), but they really worked hard to impress us. They filled the stage with strange metal stuff, as if they were in a factory. They had curious paintings over their bodies (although they reminded me of some Balck metal singers look), and they played all the time with their acting. But they aren’t just a look, their music was really nice, check their myspace.

That was a great night, I’m looking forward to the next concert!

Frankfurter Allee, my stay in Berlin

10 13th, 2007 / Tags: , ,

Our underground stop was Frankfurter Allee, we were staying at Dark Hostel, next to the K17. Our holidays in Berlin.

I love Berlin, this is the second time I go there. I love the variety of things you can visit or do. In the center, besides the Bundestag, the Museums and Alexander Platz, you always find markets in the streets, original shops, hot dogs sellers everywhere… I particularly love a bar called Barato, in Friedrischain. It’s a place where you can have dinner or a cocktail while you listen to good music (futurepop, ebm, electrodark, industrial…). Comparing to spanish prices it is quite a cheap place, and food is super! And the K17, which is three streets far away from Barato, is one of the best discos I know. They have 4 different floors, with different styles of music: 80’s, metal, electro… And they open almost everyday!

In the K17 in BerlinDuring my holidays this year I had the opportunity to meet Steve Naghavi, the singer of And One in the K17. It was quite a surprise, and I almost talked him as a crazy fan… But he was very nice, and told me they were coming to Spain in May… That night we also met a couple from Valencia (that guy on the right in the photo). Everytime I go to Berlin I meet some Spanish people who go to the K17! It seems to be quite famous.

Another thing I love from Berlin is the Out of Line Shop. Here in Malaga is really hard to find any electro music CD, so when I get to a shop as the one in Berlin I can spend more than an hour trying to decide what to buy. I know you can buy everything from the internet, but I love going to a shop where I can find everything I like, even special editions and other stuff.

I hope I can get to Berlin soon again. Now it’s time to learn some german words…

Espeto Dark Festival. 15th December in Málaga. Spetsnaz, Proceed & Xtertor!

Spetsnaz, Proceed & XTertor. Espeto Dark Festival, MalagaNext december, on the 15th, quite a big event in Dark Scene takes place in Málaga (Spain). Some friends of mine are organizing a festival with Spetsnaz, Proceed and Xtertor; you cannot miss it if you like electro music! The Filmore Rock venue is the host of this festival. Come and enjoy it, and if you stay during the day maybe you can try the “Espeto”, a typical dish from Malaga (kind of barbecued sardines).

SpetsnazThe ticket is just 18 € if you pay in advance (20€ if you buy it in the disco). You can reserve one calling to +34 651 751 459, or if you are in Malaga, you can buy it at “El Rincón de Jack”, a club located at Francisco de Cossio street, number 16, 3rd local. You can also buy your ticket at “Tiberio Dark Side”, a clothes shop located at Don Cristián street, number 15.

ProceedListen to Spetsnaz in their myspace; they come directly from Swedeen to make your body move with their powerful EBM. And give a try to the tracks of Proceed, as good as the first ones with the Electro Body Music. Don’t forget the show of Xtertor (a.k.a S.I.T.H.), a new local electro band who will for sure impress you with their shocking electro music.

If you are missing the Out of line Festival anywhere in Europe, you still have the oportunity to come to the sunny but also dark Malaga and see Spetsnaz and Proceed together!! Dark Scene is alive! Olé!
